Welcome to CrashLAN #1 - Our first event!
We are hoping for a minimum of 10 attending our first event (though more would be very very welcome).
When is it?
Running over the weekend of the 18th, 19th and 20th of November 2016.
Where is it?
Location: Wellow Village Hall, Wellow, Bath, BA2 8QA
What do I need to bring?
Please bring the following items of equipment:
- Your PC and monitor(s) (duh!)
- A power extension 4 gang
- Your peripherals - including gaming wheel or joypad
We will provide you with one power socket and one network cable per desk (though we can arrange for more if required).
As the event stretches over several days, you will also need the following:
- Sleeping bag, airbed, pillow, etc
- Clothing and toiletries
- Food and drink
- Some cash for take out deliveries and/or bacon sandwiches
We can get a chinese or pizza delivered on Saturday night and will provide bacon sandwiches (for a small cost) on both Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Please note: There is only a tiny village shop within walking distance and this will only be open on Saturday 9am - 1pm, so please bring enough food with you. There is a Sainsbury's within a 10 minute drive that is open the usual hours. We are also within delivery distance for a range of take-away places from Bath whiich are available on Just Eat.
What are the facilities?
- The main hall with off-street parking
- Male and female toilets
- Kitchen with hobs, oven, fridge and microwave
What games do I need?
The only game you definitely need is Project Cars, however we might also play some of the following:
- DiRT Rally
- Next Car Game - Wreckfest
- Counterstrike Source
- Star Citizen
One of our chaps is bringing his HTC Vive, so there should also be the chance to experience Virtual Reality.
What can I expect?
Whilst we obviously enjoy racing, we are moreso looking to have a fun and friendly time. The current skill range is from complete beginner to moderate, so please do attend even if you are not a highly proficient racer - a good number of us have not done much racing before or not played racing games for many months! Instead saving it for the enjoyment of the face to face experience. Having fun is far more important than winning and we hope to have enough of a skill range that everybody has opponents at their level.
We have an itinerary planned however we are open to suggestions and happy to modify / repeat / add activities depending on what works and what we all enjoy as a group.
We look forward to seeing you there!
